Tax & Employment Legislation

Tax legislation is thousands of pages long… So we make sure we are the experts, so you don’t have to worry. We keep a very close eye on all the legislation that affects the industry; from IR35 changes, T&S Legislation, contract law and employment legislation. If you have any questions about any of the changes within the industry, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can guide you through it.

Employment legislation is also another minefield, with neither tax or employment law sitting togethet properly. However, we make this our job, so you don’t have to!

Lucy Smith – Managing Director

Lucy has worked in the umbrella industry since 2013. Much of this time was spent managing one of the most reputable umbrella companies of the time, ContractorUmbrella. However, when the decision was made to relocate the business to Hertfordshire in early 2019, Lucy took the opportunity to reconsider her future within the industry. Having built some amazing relationships with agencies, contractors and HMRC, Lucy took the opportunity to return to industry with Clarity Umbrella Ltd an award winning umbrella company.

Even with years of experience and a fantastic team behind her, Lucy knew that this would be a challenging time as the “newbie” on the block! However determined to pursue her aims of creating an umbrella with the contractor’s and agencies interests at heart, Lucy is pleased to be progressing with this new chapter of her life.

Lucy is a regular contributor on the Contractor UK forums. Has sat on HMRC round table events, written for the Financial Times and was the founder of the AUCAE website, a site aimed at promoting compliance in the sector.
